War eine lange, mühsame, traurige Nacht...

Und für diese zwei Spiele sind wir aufgestanden??
Musste das sein???
Wenigstens eines der Teams hätte gewinnen können - meinen Nerven zuliebe...

Und nachdem mein Liebling Harry Kewell verletzt war und deswegen nicht spielen konnte, gibt es dieses Mal halt ein Teambild...

Wir hoffen nun auf Spanien - und gehen jetzt erst mal arbeiten. Die Nacht ist schon wieder zu Ende...

Peu de repos pendant la coupe du monde... Ce soir la nuit va être courte. En effet deux matchs capitaux nous attendent. Le premier à 1am Australie - Italie et le second à 5am Suisse - Ukraine.


Da gilt es also 2x Daumen drücken!!! Und schlafen wird mal wieder auf später verschoben. (Findet sich dann schon mal noch ein Moment... Mach ich dann in 10 Tagen oder so... Wer will schon schlafen, wenn Diplomarbeit und Fussball-WM gleichzeitig enden... Schlaf wird eh überberwertet... Ich brauch dringend einen KAFFEE!!!)

In Australien spricht man deutlich weniger von der kommenden Fussballweltmeisterschaft in Deutschland als in Europa. Dies liegt vorallem daran, dass man hier in Queensland hauptsächlich Aussie Rules spielt. Hier folgend nun also Aussie Rules versus Soccer Rules. Aussie Rules

Australian football, also known as Australian rules football, is a code of football that originated in Melbourne, Australia. In areas where the game is popular, the game is simply called "football" or "footy". When contrasted with other codes, it is often called "Aussie rules", and sometimes referred to by the name of its top-level competition, the "AFL".

The game is played between two teams of 18 players (plus interchange players) on cricket ovals or similar-sized grassed arenas that vary in size and may be up to 185 metres (200 yards) long; these are much larger than those used by other codes of football (almost four times the area).

The game is also distinguished from other games by the fast, relatively free, movement of the ball (partly due to the absence of an offside rule) and the awarding of a free kick for any clean catch (mark) of a ball that has been kicked more than 15 metres. Spectacular high marks or "speccies", tackles and fast fluid play are the game's main attributes as a spectator sport.

Although it is a winter sport, pre-season competitions usually begin in late February (late summer in the southern hemisphere). The football season, proper, is from March (early autumn) to August (late winter) with finals being held in September (early spring).

Soccer Rules

Association football, soccer, or simply football, is a team sport played between two teams each consisting of eleven players. It is a ball game played on a rectangular grass (sometimes artificial turf) field with a goal at each end. The object of the game is to score by maneouvering the ball into the opposing goal. The predominant defining feature of the sport is that players other than the goalkeepers may not use their hands or arms to propel the ball in general play. The winner of the match is the team that has scored most goals at the end of the match.

The sport is known by many names throughout the English-speaking world, although football is the most common. Other names, such as association football and soccer, are often used to distinguish the game from other codes of football, since the word football may be used to refer to several quite different games.

The modern game developed in England following the formation of the Football Association, whose 1863 set of rules created the foundations for the way the sport is played today. Football is governed internationally by Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA). The most prestigous international football competition is the World Cup, which is the most widely-viewed sporting event in the world.

Heute ist offiziell der erste Wintertag in Australien. Zeit also für einen kurzen Blick auf den Brisbane Weather Forecast:Sieht doch gar nicht so schlecht aus - wir brauchen am Tag weiterhin keine Jacke. Und unser 9h-Breakfast im Garten des Buch-Cafés (es lebe der Campus-Buchladen!) müssen wir auch nicht aufgeben.

Die Mindesttemperaturen sind wohl ein wenig positiv geschätzt - in einigen Suburbs fallen die Temperaturen während der Nacht unter die Nullgradmarke. Nachdem unser Haus keine Heizung besitzt und Isolation in Brisbane ein Fremdwort zu sein scheint, haben wir uns nun doch eine Elekroheizung und eine 2. Bettdecke besorgt.
